The Rose Playhouse, Bankside, will host a benefit performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Borough Market Relief Fund on Sunday 13th August 2017 at 6.30pm.
Borough Market is very much a part of our Bankside family, and the awful terrorist attack on London Bridge on Saturday 3rd July 2017 affected every one of us. Those who died and were injured will never be forgotten.
Our community will take time to heal; the market was closed for over a week and many traders and workers have struggled financially as well as emotionally. Most of the stall holders in Borough Market are small independent traders whose viability has been put under massive strain from loss of stock and cancelled trading days, for many workers the market is their only source of income.
A special fund to raise money for those affected has been set up by the Borough Market Trust, United St Saviour’s Charity and Better Bankside though JustGiving.
Pepe Pryke (Unfolds Theatre), Alex Pearson (Director) and the cast and crew of A Midsummer Night’s Dream are delighted that all proceeds from the performance will go to the Borough Market Relief Fund, and there will be a raffle during the performance held by Bottom himself!

The Rose is an indoor archaeological site, it is advisable to dress with an extra layer as there is no heating. There are also no toilets so please use Shakespeare’s Globe just a few hundred metres away.
